Bone Densitometry
(DXA Scan)

Dual X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scan is the preferred technique for measuring bone strength, density, and mineral content.

It is very effective in the diagnosis and monitoring of osteoporosis. The amount of radiation exposure during a DXA scan is low. DXA scanning is generally performed on the hip and spine. The exam is painless and is completed in approximately 10 to 20 minutes.

Please notify your physician if you are pregnant prior to any medical procedure.
